Confusion: Not All Villains Are Evil?

SpiderMan Fan Fiction :)

Please, i need help for a title to this 😭 😂

I let myself slide down my web upside down with my feet holding me straight. "You know that you really shouldn't be doing that." The Prowler didn't even flinch, intensely concentrating as she reached for the hypersonic laser shooting gun lying on a velvet cushion inside of a case that she had somehow opened without setting off any alarms. I saw why she was being so careful. There were miniature laser beams inside the case, begging to be intersected to set off their blaring alarm. I heard a quiet hissing noise, and then the Prowler spoke. "You know you really shouldn't be interrupting someone when they're in the middle of an extremely dangerous mission, but to what do I owe this pleasure?" She pulled the gun out and stroked it.

I swallowed and knew that one wrong move could get me blasted through. "You're going to get yourself killed if you keep this up. You know that, right?"

The Prowler stepped closer and leveled the laser shooting gun at my head. "Not with this gun. The only thing keeping you from life and death is my finger pulling this trigger."

"I don't think you fully understand the situation you're in." I prepared to dodge a laser beam, although I knew there was little chance that I could escape the speed of the beams it shot. "If you kill me, then this city will be overrun with villains, and you're going to be up for much more competition, not to mention all of the innocent people that will get hurt." What I was saying felt dumb, as my heart was racing and my head was pounding. I had never felt this kind of stress before. Never in my crime-fighting career had I felt like this. I was...scared.

"Oh, but we're not all savages here, sweetheart."

I suddenly felt very lightheaded and groggy, and before I knew it, she jumped forward and struck me on the head with the but of the gun.

• • • • • • (a few hours later)

"Wha...where I am?" My eyes slowly flickered open, and I found I couldn't move my arms or legs, as my whole body was roped and chained to a punching bag hanging from the ceiling by a chain. The rusty squeaking monotonously tingled in my ears, and I was growing dizzy from the circler path the swinging punching bag was making.

"Oh, Peter! You're awake now. You're quite the sleepyhead. I've made breakfast, and once you agree to be a good little boy, I'll take you down from there." The Prowler approached me with a steaming plate of pancakes drenched in syrup. "I also have mango slices."

I squinted my eyes. What was this villain trying to do? "How did you know that was my favorite––never mind."

"I know much more about you than you ever know. Now agree to have a civilized breakfast with me, or," she growled the last three words, starve to death."

"Civilized? Breakfast? With you?" I couldn't believe my ears. As a matter of fact, I couldn't believe my eyes either. What was wrong with her? "I don't think villains are supposed to do this."

The Prowler chuckled. "I didn't know there was a villain standard."

"It's probably poisoned." I tried to adjust my body against the hard punching bag but was still unable to move.

"What would you have to lose if I did? Either you die from poison, or you die from me killing you."

My stomach growled. I was hungry. I had been so busy with exams that I had hardly eaten for the past few days. It smelled so good, but I was still hesitant. She was right. I would die either way. "I agree to act civilized––if you do."

The Prowler laughed. "If I'm following your standard of the Villain Standard, I will act as civilized as a villain could act."

I groaned. "Just let me out."

"Tsk tsk tsk. I guess even heroes don't have manners." She untied me, and I dropped to the ground.

As we sat at the table and ate, I watched her every move, but she just seemed to be eating a typical breakfast. "What do you want?"

She stopped chewing. "What do I want? I want the same as everyone else. I want power; I want people to listen to me."

"You could have been a hero. You didn't need to be a villain who hurts people."

"No one would listen to me. I have everyone's attention now that I'm a villain. They think I'm a threat, so they'll do what I say."

"Aren't you a..." I choked. I didn't even know what type of villain this was. "Aren't you a threat?"

"Am I? You break the rules and become a hero; I break the rules and become the villain. It doesn't seem fair, does it?"

"I don't break the–" I had to stop and think. Was that true? I guess I had run from the police...but that was to stop a bad guy. I had punched multiple people, but...that was to evil people. Then I realized, I didn't stop the robber who had killed Uncle Ben, I had potentially been endangering citizens in his fights, and there had been more collateral damage than I'd wanted, also, the webs everywhere. Is that vandalism? No, but that's just what spiders do...

"Rethinking your whole career now, aren't you?" The Prowler interrupted his thoughts.

"I–how do you know so much?" I itched my neck and realized I didn't have my mask on. "Where's my mask?"

"You'll get it later on." She paused and looked me over. "I didn't realize how good-looking you were."

"Wha–" I was so confused. Was a villain complimenting me? My head throbbed.

"Take a look at yourself in the mirror."

I stood and walked to a mirror and realized that maybe she was right. I was pretty good-looking. I was tall and muscular, and my blond tufts of hair were slightly curly and hung slightly above my jaw. My eyes were startlingly blue, and my teeth were white and straight. Pretty good for someone who never had braces. I flexed and grinned. I heard a ringing noise and then felt the buzzing again. Not again. As I swung around, it was only to be knocked out by the Prowler. Again. "Sorry I had to do that, but I have to go," I heard her say as everything turned black.

Wow I love it! I've only watched the first Spider-Man movie, but honestly this is so good! Hmm, titles.... I will first admit that I suck at coming up with titles, and this is literally just me thinking out loud, and I definitely get it if you don't like any of them (I usually don't like my own titles lol) but here we go: The Villains are the Victims, The Difference Between Us (Villains and Heroes), ummm, what else.... let me think for a while, I'll get back to you!
