Incognito: Behind the Mask

a little SpiderMan FanFiction i wrote for a class I'm doing!
I held my breath as the subway passed inches from my body, roaring past, sucking the wind out of me. I fired out a web and shot up, crawling through the pipe-work of the underground train station. Suddenly I felt it again; that tingling sensation I had always felt whenever I was in danger. I jumped out of the way as a large black and purple fist crushed the metal pipes where I had just been hanging and left a large crack in the concrete ceiling. The dust settled to the ground, and I swung around, tucking and rolling as the dark figure lunged at me, their metal fists suddenly extending blades from the knuckles. We circled each other menacingly. "Who are you?" I asked, my voice muffled slightly by my mask.
The black and purple figure chuckled, but then their face grew grim. "You're young; why are you doing this? Don't try and be a hero. You'll never make it out here with all of us big bad people." They pounced at me, their cape swooshing, then landing in a crouch.
I grunted as I jumped to the ceiling and shot web bursts at them, only for the webs to be shredded to pieces with their claws. "I'm the only thing that our city has. Without me, people like you would be taking over." I jumped onto the other side of the subway tracks. "But who are you."
"I..." they stood, their eyes narrowing and their voice filling with power, "am the Prowler." A train whooshed by, the horn blaring and echoing through the tunnel. For a second, I was blinded by the lights, but as it disappeared around the corner and I looked back to the other side, the Prowler was gone. Huh? I hung from the ceiling and surveyed the empty tunnel and tracks. Oh no. My brain buzzed, and I tried to dodge the attack that I knew was coming, but it was too late. The Prowler knocked me to the ground, sending a blow to my jaw with their right fist, then my gut with their left, then back to the right. I struggled to get up, but they held me down. "You will never survive!"
I grabbed their wrist as they aimed another blow to my jaw, pulling them off balance. Rolling out of the way, I jumped up, swinging on top of them and knocking them down. "I will survive, and with another villain like you ending up in jail, I think I'll be able to keep this city safe." As I swung by, my hands stuck to their mask, pulling it off. I jumped down and gaped in shock. "You're–you're a...girl?"
The Prowler ran her hand through her shoulder-length hair. "Yeah, I'm a girl. You thought that only guys could be villains?" She chuckled and sheathed her claws. "Until next time, SpiderMan." She took back her mask in a flash and disappeared into the shadows.
I hope you liked it! Feel free to tell me your thoughts about it in the comment section down below!
